Japanese bugs I like

These insects, 虫 mushi, are common in Okayama, especially at the rural schools where I teach. My students keep them in plastic cages in their classrooms. From top:
Kamakiri-mushi, the Japanese praying mantis.
Tonbo, Japanese dragonfly.
Kabuto-mushi, rhinoceros beetle.
Bata, or Kirigirisu, Japanese grasshopper.

Great names, eh?
